Eligibility
Who can become an MNTD?
Any pensioner members or members who are deferred and still work for AXA who are aged over 18 can be nominated to stand providing they haven’t:
- Been convicted of an offence involving dishonesty or deception.
- Been subject to bankruptcy or impounding, and has not been discharged.
- Made an arrangement with a creditor that hasn’t been discharged.
- Been disqualified as a Company Director.
- Been suspended, prohibited or disqualified as a Trustee by The Pensions Regulator (TPR).
MNTD Policy
Ahead of the current MNTD selection, the Trustee Board and AXA have reviewed the current MNTD policy. A few key points to note following the recent review:
- MNTDs are usually selected for a three-year term (in exceptional circumstances it is possible to extend the term).
- MNTDs can be selected for up to three terms of office.
- It is expected that MNTDs will serve no more than a maximum of 12 years as an MNTD.
An MNTD will cease to be a Trustee Director for the Scheme in the event of any of the following:
- Resigning from office at any time by giving notice to AXA.
- In the case of a deferred member, ceasing to be employed by AXA (unless the Trustee Board and AXA agree otherwise).
- By the agreement of all the other Trustee Directors for their removal as an MNTD.
