Your pension is paid to you monthly as income, and taxed through PAYE, just like a salary from a job.

Pension increases are also paid each year, based on the rules of the Scheme section you are in. If you start receiving your pension part way through the year, your increase for that year will be proportional.

Verification checks for overseas pensioners
If you live overseas and receive a pension from the Scheme, you will be contacted by the Scheme Administrator approximately every two years to confirm that your personal details are up to date and that you remain entitled to receive your pension. This process is known as an Overseas Verification Check. If you receive correspondence asking you to validate your details by telephone to the Capita Tracing Team or to validate your details online, it is a legitimate part of the Scheme's administration. However, please remain vigilant against scams. The Scheme Administrator will never ask you to provide passwords, PINs or full banking security details, pressure you to make urgent decisions, or ask you to transfer money. If you receive a communication that seems unusual, contains unexpected requests, or you are unsure whether it is genuine, please contact the Scheme Administrator using the contact details provided on this website before taking any action.
